Job summary

Bracco Medical Technologies in Eden Prairie, MN seeks a Principal Reliability Engineer to lead product quality and reliability across the portfolio. You will partner with Systems Engineering, Quality, and cross-functional teams to define reliability goals, requirements, and strategies.

You’ll own reliability methods, risk management, field performance, and failure analysis from development through post-market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (systems/electrical/mechanical/biomedical or software)
• Experience mentoring and coaching engineers.
• 5+ years with Design for Reliability (DFR).
• 5+ years in product development systems engineering.
• Experience analyzing field, complaint, and service data.
• Leading root-cause investigations with engineering and quality.
• Knowledge of reliability, risk management, design controls (ISO 14971, ISO 13485).
• Experience with risk management and systems engineering processes.
• Ability to build productive relationships across the business.
• Effective communication across the business in both written and verbal form.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize across tasks.
• Work independently or in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead DFR methodologies for new product development across hardware and software.
• Mentor engineers to improve engineering skills and domain knowledge.
• Develop business case and plan for reliability programs and communicate benefits to senior management.
• Review and approve reliability planning, testing, and analysis activities.
• Ensure quality and reliability requirements are incorporated into products and quantify reliability.
• Contribute to Technical Design Reviews to ensure completeness and effectiveness.
• Define strategy and roadmap for new tools, methods, and processes for reliability needs.
• Be a technology advocate in business and customer interactions.
• Attract, develop, and retain engineering talent.
• Lead technical design reviews and guide engineers on decisions.
