Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Austin, TX seeks a staff-level reliability engineer to oversee semiconductor reliability across NTI/NPI to mass production. You will collaborate with Korea HQ, external customers, and Fab teams to drive reliability from concept to production.

You will lead a team, plan experiments, analyze data, apply reliability models, and publish findings. A MS or PhD in Engineering or Physics is required, with 10+ years in semiconductor engineering; US work authorization is

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Engineering or Physics; 10+ years in semiconductor process/product engineering.
• Experience leading reliability improvement projects and NTI/NPI.
• Strong collaboration with internal and external teams; on-site in Austin.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for reliability improvement activities.
• Plan and execute reliability evaluations for NTI/NPI, technology qualification, process changes and abnormal events.
• Lead cross-department problem solving to improve reliability across Fab, PIE, Device, Product Test, etc.
• Design, execute, and analyze designed experiments to improve semiconductor fabrication processes.
• Utilize lessons learned to improve reliability margin; define new process integration for new technology nodes.
• Utilize statistical tools and reliability models to extract lifetime from time to fail data.
• Represent Samsung technology leadership by authoring papers for symposiums and journals and leadership roles at external conferences.
• Navigate both the industrial and academic landscape to be a knowledge center of device integration and technology development for reliability.
