Job summary

MonoSol, LLC is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to improve asset uptime, drive RCA/FMEA, and lead continuous improvement across the Duneland facility. You will leverage data, cross-functional teams, and CMMS systems to optimize maintenance and reliability programs.

The role reports to the Director - Global Maintenance and requires lean manufacturing expertise, strong communication, and a track record of reducing downtime in industrial settings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or related field.
  • Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tools and TPM/WCM.
  • 5+ years in reliability engineering within an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation using structured methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FTA.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Optimization using condition-based technologies to improve uptime.
  • Asset Reliability & Performance Monitoring with metrics like MTBF/MTTR and OEE; building dashboards from CMMS/SCADA data.
  • RCM / FMEA participation to optimize maintenance plans and asset integrity.
  • Support Capital Projects and Equipment Design to embed reliability from the start.
  • Lubrication & Asset Care Programs to extend asset life and performance.
  • Spare Parts Strategy & CMMS Optimization for data accuracy and standardization.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives (Kaizen, TPM, Six Sigma).
  • Training & Culture Development to foster reliability mindset across teams.

Job description

This role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and driving a culture of continuous improvement. The Senior Reliability Engineer will utilize data-driven methods and cross-functional collaboration to optimize asset performance, support plant safety and compliance, and enhance overall operational efficiency. This role works out of our Duneland facility and reports directly to the Director - Global Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation
    Lead or support root cause investigations for equipment and process failures. Apply structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and Fault Tree Analysis to identify and eliminate chronic issues.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Optimization
    Evaluate existing maintenance strategies and implement condition-based or predictive technologies (vibration, infrared, ultrasound, oil analysis) to improve uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Asset Reliability & Performance Monitoring
    Track and analyze reliability metrics (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, OEE, downtime). Develop performance dashboards and reports using data from CMMS, SCADA, or plant historians.
  • Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) / FMEA
    Facilitate or participate in RCM, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and criticality assessments to optimize maintenance plans and ensure asset integrity.
  • Support Capital Projects and Equipment Design
    Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure reliability is designed into new systems. Provide input on equipment selection, specifications, and commissioning practices.
  • Lubrication & Asset Care Programs
    Oversee proper implementation of lubrication strategies and precision maintenance practices to extend asset life and improve equipment performance.
  • Spare Parts Strategy & CMMS Optimization
    Work with maintenance planning and supply chain to evaluate spare parts usage, identify critical spares, and ensure accurate asset data and task standardization in the CMMS.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives
    Lead or support Kaizen events, TPM efforts, and Six Sigma projects to enhance reliability and efficiency across the plant.
  • Training & Culture Development
    Support the development of a reliability-focused culture by training operations and maintenance teams on reliability principles and proactive maintenance strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tools and Methodologies such as TPM, TPS, or WCM.
  • 5 years of experience as a Senior Reliability Engineering focused on maintenance and operations in industrial setting (discrete manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance methodologies (RCM, RCA, FMEA, PM Optimization).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, eMaint).
  • Familiarity with reliability tools such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, thermography, and oil sampling.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across departments.
  • Certification in Reliability Engineering (e.g., CMRP, CRE) and Six Sigma.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory compliance (OSHA, GMP)
