Leidos Defense seeks a Senior RAM Engineer to lead reliability analyses across multiple programs in a matrix organization. You will develop RAM artifacts, lead RAM tasks, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with program leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams.
The role emphasizes RAM prediction, MTTR/MTBF, FMEA, RBD, FTA, and FRACAS, with opportunities to shape tools and BoE support for DoD and NASA programs.

We empower our teams, contribute to our communities, and operate sustainable. Everything we do is built on a commitment to do the right thing for our customers, our people, and our community. Leidos Defense provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. Our team is solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions. Leidos Defense is seeking a talented Senior Reliability Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. As a Senior Reliability Engineer, this candidate may serve as a Lead RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability) Engineer on at least one major program simultaneously, where they will manage tasking for a team of other, more junior reliability engineers. In this role, the candidate will also interface with program leadership, customers, and line management. The expectation is for the Senior Reliability Engineer to manage RAM Engineering work internally within the Defense Sector (and Leidos as a whole) by fielding requests from project managers, support Basis of Estimation (BoE) development for proposed RAM work and shape the company’s overall approach to Reliability Engineering via tool selection and training of other reliability team members. The selected candidate will have a significant impact on the development of reliability artifacts such as reliability prediction, MTTR analysis, reliability block diagrams (RBD), reliability reports, statistics, FMEA, and FTA. Lastly, the Defense Sector’s focus is on hiring a candidate with subject matter expertise in reliability prediction analyses, but experience with production and sustainment related activities like Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS) is beneficial. The Senior RAM Engineer will work in a matrixed organization at Leidos, supporting multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with different team environments, from the large-scale programs that Leidos is the prime contractor for, to smaller-scale programs for which Leidos provides support as a subcontractor to companies in the top 100 DoD contractors. The candidate will join a diverse team of other RAM engineers, systems engineers and specialty engineers (e.g., Safety and Human Factors, Risk, Test) within Leidos and have the opportunity to work on programs from their preferred background, as well as challenge themselves by working on programs outside of their expertise.
