Senior Claims Analyst – Reinsurance – Property Claims

Location: Stamford, CT | USA

As a Senior Claims Analyst, Reinsurance Property Claims, you will manage a book of assumed reinsurance claims in the Property line, utilizing your experience and analytics to evaluate casualty claim exposures. You will interact with internal and external clients, build relationships, and ensure high customer service standards. You will own significant issues related to claims management and account relationships.

Responsibilities
  1. Managing assumed property reinsurance claims, both treaty and facultative.
  2. Reviewing reinsurance contracts and claims to verify coverage, evaluate exposure, post reserves, and authorize payments within service standards.
  3. Conducting claim audits, engaging with brokers and clients, assessing operations and claim files, and communicating results clearly and analytically.
  4. Responding to the needs of Underwriters, Actuaries, and Senior Management to provide exceptional service.
  5. Analyzing and reporting claim trends and exposures, including natural catastrophes, to underwriters and actuaries.
  6. Collaborating with North America and regional claims departments to identify loss exposures and trends.
Qualifications

We seek candidates with:

  • Advanced experience handling complex, high-value property claims.
  • Experience with reinsurance claims and audits is a plus.
  • Knowledge of claims best practices, reserves, and large loss reporting.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and improve technical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or industry designations such as ARe, CPCU, RPLU, or JD are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.
