Job description

At Medtronic, you can begin a lifelong career of exploration and innovation while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.

A Day in the Life

We are inviting experienced talent for a fixed-term role as Senior Reimbursement Analyst based in Australia. This is an incredible opportunity to be a valued partner to Medtronic’s businesses in the Australia and New Zealand region.

This role is ideal for an individual with a strategic mindset, strong experience in health technology assessments and reimbursement projects in the ANZ region, who enjoys working across a matrixed regional and global organization, navigating change, and recommending solutions to our Operating Unit leadership and commercial teams. You will do varied work with high impact, driving business growth and delivering optimal outcomes for our customers.

The Health Economics, Policy, and Reimbursement (HEPR) function collaborates with governments, payers, providers, and patients as a trusted partner. The HEPR team secures reimbursement, delivers economic value, shapes value-based healthcare policy, and ensures full and appropriate patient access to Medtronic technologies to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.

The successful candidate will offer strategic solutions to make Medtronic’s innovative products available to patients. Agility, a can-do attitude, and high collaboration are critical for success in this role.

This is an individual contributor role. You will be based in Sydney and report to the Senior Reimbursement Manager for Australia and New Zealand. This is a part-time (4 days/week), fixed-term contract role for 11 months.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively to determine reimbursement/Health Technology Assessment (HTA) strategies, ensuring timely and commercially aligned access for Medtronic technologies.
  • Provide reimbursement-related advice to Operating Units (OU) leadership, marketing, sales, and support functions.
  • Develop Prescribed List (PL) application strategies and complete submissions, ensuring compliance with Department of Health (DoH) deadlines.
  • Maintain the integrity of existing PL listings and manage amendments in collaboration with Marketing and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Provide expertise on Australian government HTA processes for subsidies, including knowledge of principal HTA committees (MSAC and MDHTAC).
  • Understand OU’s market access needs, identify barriers and opportunities, and collaborate on healthcare economics and reimbursement strategies with the broader HEPR team.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience or a postgraduate qualification with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in health economics, outcomes research, or medical device technology assessment with a successful reimbursement and funding application track record.
  • Good knowledge of health economic models and their development and review.
  • Good understanding of reimbursement systems in the ANZ region.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work across cultures, strong project management skills, and a results-driven mindset.
