  • Serve as a lead technical resource to R&D, Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing on standards‑driven design decisions and compliance pathways.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with UL and other NRTLs, defining certification approaches, supporting testing and evaluation activities, and maintaining product listings and certifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure new product designs, design changes, and component substitutions align with applicable standards and certification requirements, supporting continuity of supply.
  • Interpret changes to codes and standards, assess applicability to IEM products, and provide recommendations, training, and reference materials to compliance leadership and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Develop training and educational materials related to codes and standards for internal and external teams as needed.
Competencies
  • Strong technical understanding of codes and standards applicable to electrical distribution equipment, including UL 1558, UL 891, UL 1008, UL 67, IEEE C37.20, and related standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with product testing, certification, and listing processes through UL and/or other NRTLs.
  • Ability to interpret ambiguous or evolving standards and apply them pragmatically to real‑world product designs.
  • Constructive problem‑solving skills to address technical and regulatory challenges.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating across multidisciplinary, cross‑functional teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical or scientific discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in regulatory compliance or product certification within an electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Direct experience working with UL and/or other NRTLs on product certifications.
  • Experience supporting engineering or R&D teams on standards‑driven design decisions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with UL or CSA Field Inspections or Field Evaluations is a plus.
  • Experience with UL STP’s is a plus.
