Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
• Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; nursing care methods and procedures; health and safety guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and documents patient interactions and general observations per unit standards.
• Demonstrates advanced level of competency in the area of practice.
• Administers and maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies and procedures.
• Reassesses and documents the effectiveness of interventions per guidelines and protocols.
• Communicates plan of care clearly to patient, family and the care team.
• Participates in development of policies, procedures, protocols and standards of care.
• Evaluates treatment against best practices and provides feedback to the team.
• Precepts students and new staff; serves as Charge/Resource Nurse when needed.
• Initiates unit-level projects with impact on patient care and safety.
• Adheres to university policies and safeguards university assets.
