Position Summary:
Provide direct, 1:1, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention supports (e.g., behavioral therapy services) to children and adolescents diagnosed with severe behavioral disorders. Provide first level of supervision to Associate Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians and may assist in training and provide oversight in the progress of sessions. This position will lead day-to-day functions of assigned cases and provide first level drafts of patient related documentation and communications, under the supervision of a BCBA or BCBA-D.

All behavioral therapy strategies and intervention components will occur through the implementation of a treatment plan that is prepared and directed by a BCBA or BCBA-D/Licensed Psychologist.

This position will regularly encounter potentially moderate- to high-risk care situations that could result in bodily harm to the employee. These situations may include, but are not limited to, providing behavioral therapy in situations where the patients display property destruction, emotional outbursts, verbal insults, and physical aggression. This position will receive specialized behavior management training.

Salary Range: $43,400 - $65,100/annual

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

Required Education: NA

Required Experience: 1 year - Experience implementing behavior analytic interventions in an education, instructional, or therapeutic setting.

Required License: Yes - Licensed as a Registered Behavioral Technician or ability to obtain a Registered Behavioral Technician license within 90 days of hire date.

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to prepare for and collect data.
  2. Ability to enter data and update graphs using a computer program.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
  4. Ability to remain calm and patient during challenging situations.
  5. Must be able to adhere to the principles and mission of the Institute.
  6. Knowledge of basic behavioral principles and interventions.
  7. Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, caregivers, and other service providers.
  8. Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks.
  9. Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback on an ongoing basis.
  10. Ability to establish organizational systems and time management strategies.

Preferred Education: Psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related health care field.

Preferred License: Yes - Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
