Job summary

BBYO is seeking a Senior Regional Director for the Greater Midwest Region to grow membership, train teen leaders, and deepen support for BBYO in the community. You will lead initiatives that create meaningful Jewish teen experiences and work with an international team across boundaries.

Based in Chicago, IL, you will manage local staff and volunteers, coordinate regional events, oversee budgets, and build partnerships with parents and alumni to expand BBYO's impact for Jewish teens.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience.
• A bachelor's degree or higher.
• Management experience preferred; experience with youth or teens is required.

We are looking for a passionate Senior Regional Director to join our Greater Midwest Region team and make a difference. As a Senior Regional Director, you'll play a pivotal role in growing membership, training regional and chapter teen leaders, deepening support for BBYO in the Greater Midwest Region community, and leading organization-wide initiatives that produce meaningful, Jewish experiences for Jewish teens. Alongside your team, you'll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens, our community, and the world.

SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF

• Managing local staff and teens to implement a calendar of impactful, high quality, fun and dynamic programs.
• Mentoring teens and providing leadership training throughout the school year.
• Supporting chapter and regional teen leadership to strengthen programming and engagement.
• Recruiting and training a team of volunteer advisors.
• Building a robust member recruitment process that expands the pipeline of prospects, aligns stakeholders, and prepares teens to invite other teens to join BBYO.
• Coordinating large scale regional conventions and community-wide events.
• Managing and balancing a major programmatic budget and contracts.
• Seeking out and cultivating relationships with parents, alumni and community partners to mobilize more people to grow and support BBYO
• Participating in organizational projects, teams, and summer programs as assigned to expand the movement and strengthen teen leadership.
• Attending summer camp (but this time you're in charge!) as you lead teen leadership programs.
• Flexing your creative muscles by executing new and noteworthy programming.
• Analyzing and utilizing data to drive decision making.
• Global thinking as you work with an international team across organizational and geographical boundaries.
• Connecting BBYO to the greater Chicago community.
• Assist with fundraising efforts and relationship building across multiple communities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR MAKING A LASTING IMPACT

Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. Additionally, for Senior Regional Directors, these skills are key to success:

• Experience: 5+ years of work experience
• Education: A bachelor's degree or higher
• Abilities : Management experience preferred. Experience with youth or teens is required
• Must reside in Chicago, IL area.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the region, to organization-wide events and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the U.S. for 2-3 weeks each summer.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends) when teens are available
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.

Salary Range : $73,000-$84,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible to earn a performance-based bonus tied to the achievement of established metrics.
