Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC seeks a Senior Regional Director, Africa to lead the Operation Christmas Child International program in Africa. You will recruit and develop regional leaders, manage budgets, and coordinate partnerships with national consignees to enable evangelism and humanitarian work in Jesus' name.

The role requires 5–7 years of cross-cultural ministry, a Master’s in related field, and strong budgeting and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Missions, Missiology, Theology or related field and 5–7 years cross-cultural ministry leadership experience
• 12 credit hours of Biblical Studies required (or to be completed after hire)
• Proven ability to train, coach and develop staff in cross-cultural environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and budgeting
• Ability to manage financial reports and annual regional budgets

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Senior Regional Director, Africa to join our Operation Christmas Child International team in Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the role of Senior Regional Director, Africa, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Monitor, coach, and provide progress updates to leadership on the work of OCC in Africa and direct regional staff to build and maintain capacity for evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication of the Operation Christmas Child project throughout Africa
• Work with Regional Directors to build and maintain partnerships with national consignees to gain annual exoneration for the importation of shoebox gifts and ministry materials and reduce demurrage on shipments
• Oversee the recruitment, selection, training, leading, and development of volunteer leaders and promote spiritual maturity and a healthy work environment throughout Africa
• Give time to strategic planning, travel planning, and reporting, and coaching of Regional Directors and provide leadership on global initiatives, regional objectives, and special assignments
• Ensure the effective management of regional budgets and provide leadership for vision, content, audit, and special trips in the region
• Other duties as assigned

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Master's degree in Missions, Missiology, Theology or other related field, and five to seven years of experience living internationally and/or in cross-cultural ministry and leadership and/or equivalent combination of experience and education
• 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire
• Demonstrated and proven ability to train, coach and develop staff in a cross-cultural environment and effectively manage projects
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft programs to including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to manage financial reports and annual regional budgets
