Job summary

ColonialWebb Contractors Company seeks an experienced IR Service Technician to service customers in and around the Carolinas, with frequent travel from Chesapeake, VA. You will diagnose and repair ammonia and cascade systems, mentor junior techs, and lead major repairs with safety and reliability as priorities.

Applicants must have extensive industrial refrigeration experience, EPA and RETA certifications, and strong electrical/control skills to support complex systems and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Extensive industrial refrigeration experience with advanced troubleshooting in ammonia, cascade, and rack systems.
• Strong knowledge of evaporative condensers, large control systems, and compressor rebuilds.
• EPA Certification required; RETA Course I & II certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead technical expert diagnosing and resolving complex refrigeration issues.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize ammonia, cascade, rack, compressor, and control systems.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate service activities while maintaining safety.

For over 50 years, we've been dedicated to delivering comprehensive solutions and unmatched service to our commercial customers, earning a reputation as a trusted contractor in the industry.Perks of joining ColonialWebb:Competitive pay range of $44 to $65 hourlyCareer development and progression401(k) plan with company matchPTO and paid holidaysExcellent medical, dental, life, vision and disability benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee referral incentivesWhat you will do:Serve as the lead technical expert, diagnosing and resolving complex industrial refrigeration system issues with minimal supervision.Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize ammonia, cascade, rack, compressor, and control systems to maximize reliability and performance.Lead major repairs, overhauls, and compressor rebuilds while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.Build strong customer relationships by providing technical recommendations and serving as a trusted advisor.Mentor and support less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.Coordinate service activities, maintain accurate documentation, and support emergency service needs as required.What we are looking for:Extensive industrial refrigeration experience with advanced troubleshooting skills in ammonia, cascade, and rack systems.Strong expertise with evaporative condensers, large control systems, complex electrical controls, and compressor rebuilds.EPA Certification required; RETA Course I & II certifications required, with additional RETA certifications preferred.Thorough knowledge of IIAR, RETA, OSHA, and applicable industry safety standards.Proven ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and manage multiple priorities.Experience mentoring technicians and serving as a technical resource for customers and team members preferred.EOE M/W/Disability/VetsVeterans and those with previous military experience are encouraged to apply
