Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Refrigeration Supervisor to lead maintenance of ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems in our food manufacturing facility. Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience with ammonia refrigeration; supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, HVAC, boiler, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated control systems.
• Working knowledge of PSM, OSHA, EPA, USDA and food-safety standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems.
• Ensure compliance with PSM, RMP, EPA regulations and safety/environmental requirements.
• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and work orders.
• Monitor refrigeration and utility systems through testing, checks, and performance analysis; adjust as needed.
• Diagnose malfunctions and manage ammonia safety systems and emergency equipment.
• Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and regulators for audits and compliance.
• Train and develop team; promote safety culture and PPE compliance.
