The Position:
We are seeking a Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator who will manage and optimize the Client Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. The resource will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.

Role Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
- Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
- Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other RHEL ecosystem tools.
- Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
- Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
- Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based systems.
- Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities.
- Setting up Network File Server (NFS) and mounting configurations.
- Configuring cron jobs for system maintenance and tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or postgraduate degree, in engineering, computer science, or related field.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in Information Technology (IT).
- Extensive knowledge of Red Hat administration, including configuration and tuning.
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator: Highly Desired (Certification must be issued by Red Hat and include the resource's valid certification number).
- Clearance eligible. Candidates must be US Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card status) for at least 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
Additional Experience
- Experience working in complex networked system environments with strong administration of applications such as Oracle WebLogic Servers, WebMethods, Oracle Database Servers, Apache Web Servers, vSphere hosted RHEL, and Oracle Database.
- Knowledge of Red Hat performance tuning, load balancing, partitioning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Experience in environments requiring 24/7 system administration (on-call).

- Interface with users and helpdesk on a daily basis.
- Provide backup/recovery and networking support.
- Troubleshoot the Operating System (OS), database, and application issues.
- Be on-call for priority tickets.
