Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation or a related field.
• Two years experience in conducting organized recreational activities.
• One year experience supervising such activities at a community recreation center.
• Must possess a valid State of Michigan Operator License.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct a comprehensive year‑round recreation program for a municipal center.
• Supervise professionals and other staff in recreation center and facilities.
• Ensure activities run as planned and maintain program quality.
• Prepare work schedules and instruct staff in activities.
• Consult with staff on current programs and address issues.
• Organize social functions, clubs and athletic leagues.
• Conduct special activities including children’s events and community programs.
• Order equipment and supplies and manage fees for facilities.
• Maintain records and generate reports; ensure buildings and grounds are cared for.
