Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. seeks a Sr. Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer to design and deploy recommender systems and ML solutions that improve customer journeys across websites and apps.

The role emphasizes building scalable models, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and adherence to organizational standards and Agile processes. Regular interaction with leadership and data engineering teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in Telecom/Retail/E-commerce/CPG or consumer electronics industries.
• Solid understanding of Hadoop ecosystem and Spark.
• Proficient in Python/Scala/R/Java and SQL.
• Expert in developing and debugging ML products.
• Experience deploying models at scale in high-volume data environments.

Responsibilities

• Follow agile development principles to develop and deploy data products and POCs with massive structured/unstructured data.
• Ensure data products are deployed with thorough testing and high quality.
• Communicate results clearly to team and stakeholders.
• Interface with leadership and team members regularly to brainstorm ideas and communicate progress/risks.
• Use JIRA and Confluence for Agile planning.
