Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Solution Architect to lead end-to-end design of event-driven platforms and low-latency streaming systems for defense missions. You will collaborate with full-stack engineers and data scientists to operationalize data-intensive capabilities across mission systems.

You will drive streaming architecture, choose messaging, ensure observability and security-by-design, and mentor teams while embracing SDLC best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software architecture and production systems.
• 2+ years building real-time services with WebSockets-driven data pipelines.
• Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, and C#.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, Git, JavaScript, CSS, Swagger, OpenAPI.
• Relational and NoSQL data architectures at scale (PostgreSQL/SQL Server, MongoDB/DynamoDB).
• Delivery with data streaming technologies and distributed message queues; strong tests.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes; travel up to 25%; Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Define and own streaming architecture (pub/sub, event-driven microservices).
• Select, configure, and scale distributed messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS).
• Establish data contracts and schema evolution (Avro, Protobuf, JSON Schema).
• Design for observability (OpenTelemetry, tracing, SLOs) and resiliency patterns.
• Lead cloud-native deployments on Docker and Kubernetes; AWS or Azure guidance.
• Set security-by-design standards (encryption, authN/authZ, secrets management).
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, promote SDLC best practices.
