Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop high-performance software for metrology, inspection, or process control systems used on semiconductor equipment.

You will build real-time, scalable software that interfaces with precision hardware, collaborate with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers, mentor junior staff, and help ensure reliability, latency targets, and quality in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, SE, EE, or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++, C#, Python; knowledge of object-oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software for semiconductor equipment.
• Implement real-time control, data acquisition, and image processing.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to ensure integration.
• Develop clean, maintainable code with testing and documentation.
• Troubleshoot defects and optimize performance in high-throughput environments.
