Résumé du poste

Code Metal is seeking a Physics Engine Programmer to build the core C++ runtime for a next-generation wargaming platform. You will own engine systems, shape an ECS-based architecture, and optimize for deterministic, real-time simulation.

Ideal candidates have shipped a commercial game or engine, with deep knowledge of performance budgets, memory layouts, and low-level debugging. You will work across simulation, AI, and visualization teams, maturing the architecture while mentoring others.

Qualifications

  • Extensive professional C++ development experience in production software.
  • Experience shipping at least one commercial game, engine, platform, or interactive real-time product.
  • Ownership of foundational engine systems rather than gameplay features, scripting, tools, or application integrations.
  • Experience building or extending a physics engine, game engine, simulation runtime, ECS, or related core tech.
  • Expert command of modern C++, including concurrency, templates, and low-level debugging.
  • Strong understanding of data-oriented design, memory layout, cache behavior, and performance-sensitive data structures.
  • Experience designing or extending an ECS or runtime architecture.
  • Experience with engine loops, execution graphs, task systems, event systems, and scheduling.
  • Ability to optimize against CPU, memory, latency budgets.

Responsabilités

  • Architect and implement the core C++ runtime for a large-scale wargaming platform.
  • Own the structure, performance, and long-term health of a substantial engine codebase.
  • Design and evolve an ECS architecture for many heterogeneous simulation entities.
  • Build data-oriented storage, lifecycle management, system queries, and scheduling graphs.
  • Define engine interfaces for physics, AI, sensor, weapon, and environment models.
  • Create stable extension points for model developers without destabilizing core.
  • Design simulation loops, time stepping, and deterministic replay.
  • Develop multithreaded and task-based execution systems for simulations.
  • Optimize memory layout, serialization, and data movement for performance budgets.
  • Profile and improve CPU usage, memory, latency, and throughput.
