Actalent is seeking a Software Simulation Engineer for onsite work in Chantilly, VA. You will design, develop, and integrate software for flight simulators across avionics, IOS, and external interfaces, using Linux and Windows with C/C++ and legacy FORTRAN.

The role requires at least five years of software engineering experience, strong collaboration, and the ability to travel. Security clearance eligibility is preferred and responsibilities span the full project lifecycle, including reviews and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++ with exposure to FORTRAN or similar legacy languages.
• Experience with Linux/UNIX environments and Windows development.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio IDE and GCC/Makefiles.
• Knowledge of real-time simulation concepts and software engineering processes.
• Ability to work in a team and present designs to customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate software for flight simulators and IOS.
• Support lifecycle activities including requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
• Develop interfaces and simulations of aircraft systems with minimal supervision.
• Design architectures and documentation for software components.
• Contribute to design reviews and customer discussions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality simulations.
• Provide mentoring to junior engineers and help improve processes.
