Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a Staff Embedded Security Engineer to help secure our onboard software for vehicle fleets. You’ll work with embedded engineers to design, implement, review, and test software across current and future platforms.

You will contribute to security architecture, perform rigorous reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, hardware-aware security for autonomous driving systems.

Qualifications

• Proven record of designing and delivering security systems for internet-connected embedded devices.
• Experience incorporating hardware-based security techniques (HSM, TrustZone, Secure Boot).
• Sound knowledge of cryptography fundamentals and PKI.
• Experience creating clear design specs from architecture to test plans.
• System-level (kernel/bootloader) software development experience.
• 5+ years in software security for embedded environments (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time embedded firmware and embedded Linux software to implement security controls.
• Contribute to requirements, architecture, and interface design documents.
• Collaborate with Wayve Security team to address vehicle fleet security issues.
• Collaborate across teams to promote secure software architectures.
• Build, deploy, and maintain security tooling, libraries, and instrumentation.
• Perform code and design reviews to remediate security flaws.
