Job summary

Neon Aero, Inc is seeking a Senior Platform/Real-Time Embedded Firmware Engineer to design, implement, and maintain firmware for safety-critical control systems. You will own BSPs, drivers, RTOS/bare-metal execution, and timing across MCU platforms.

You’ll collaborate with embedded, motor control, BMS, and vehicle software engineers to ensure a reliable, reusable platform with deterministic behavior and robust diagnostics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded firmware for real-time systems.
• Strong embedded C/C++ and real-time firmware design.
• Experience with TI C2000, NXP, or similar MCUs.
• Knowledge of CAN, SPI, Ethernet, ARINC 825 interfaces.
• Ability to debug across hardware, firmware and system layers.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain real-time firmware architecture for safety-critical platforms.
• Own timing-sensitive layers, interrupts, task scheduling, and data flow.
• Develop reusable firmware frameworks for control, diagnostics, and monitoring.
• Develop and debug drivers for CAN, SPI, Ethernet, ADC, PWM, GPIO.
• Support hardware bring-up, lab validation, and HIL testing.
• Implement robust communication infrastructure and diagnostics at the firmware level.
• Support SIL/HIL environments and safety-certification readiness.
