Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Data Streaming Engineer to design and deliver a modern, real-time data platform. Lead data pipelines, streaming architecture, and data lakehouse evolution using Flink, Kafka, and Iceberg. Role focuses on low-latency data processing, data quality, and scalable solutions.

You will mentor others, collaborate across IT and product teams, and drive streaming modernization of ITSM and enterprise data systems. Jersey City location; strong pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with a focus on data engineering.
• 5+ years in data warehousing, data lakes, or MDM systems.
• Hands-on with Apache Flink, Confluent Kafka, and Apache Iceberg.
• Proficient in Python, PySpark, or Java/Scala for data engineering.
• Strong SQL skills and experience designing streaming architectures.
• Experience migrating batch workloads to streaming/event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of Parquet/Avro formats and CDC patterns.
• Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem in hybrid environments.
• SDLC, CI/CD practices, and version control proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of data pipelines for real-time streaming.
• Transform and integrate data, ensure quality, and manage metadata.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to meet data needs.
• Develop test plans and drive performance testing and triage.
• Mentor data engineers and monitor KPIs and controls.
• Design and implement real-time pipelines using Flink and Kafka.
• Migrate legacy workflows to streaming architectures.
• Build Iceberg tables for lakehouse workloads.
• Ensure data freshness and consistency across systems.
• Support CI/CD, deployment, and operations of streaming pipelines.
