Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a Real Estate Underwriter to evaluate residential mortgage and home equity loan applications, ensuring decisions meet lending guidelines and risk controls.

You will review income, assets, credit, appraisals, title reports, and prepare loan summaries. Must stay current with TILA-RESPA, ATR/QM, HMDA and collaborate with Mortgage Coordinators to move loans toward closing.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree required; may consider equivalent experience in mortgage processing, legal real estate closings, or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience highly preferred.
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate mortgage and home equity loan applications through risk assessment.
• Review appraisals and title reports for accuracy.
• Prepare loan summaries and document underwriting decisions.
• Provide guidance to Mortgage Coordinators regarding actions on incomplete or complex loans.
• Ensure compliance with TILA-RESPA, ATR/QM, HMDA and other regulations.
• Support workflow improvements and stay current on regulatory updates.
