The Senior Attorney at the New York City School Construction Authority reports to the Deputy General Counsel and provides legal advice on actions, strategies and issues across divisions. Responsibilities include negotiating, drafting and reviewing real estate, contracts and construction documents, and coordinating with Real Estate Services.

Candidates should have a JD, NYS Bar admission, and four years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the NYS Bar and in good standing.
• Four years of experience in construction, contracts, real estate, housing, environmental laws or related fields.

Responsabilités

• Negotiate, draft and review contracts, LOIs, MOUs, contracts of sale, licenses, leases and SNDAs.
• Draft assignment and assumption agreements between NYC Department of Education and the Authority.
• Negotiate, draft and review easements, zoning documents and other real estate related documents.
• Advise staff on real property transactions, construction matters and NYC Construction Code.
• Research complex legal issues and provide support to divisions on acquisitions, licenses and construction.
