Prince George County is seeking a Senior Real Estate Appraiser to lead field data collection, appraisal work, and market analysis. The role involves developing appraisal procedures, maintaining computerized records, and assisting the public with appraisal questions.

Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of real estate appraisal practices for assessment purposes.
Thorough knowledge of building and land values and related county ordinances.
Ability to analyze factors influencing property values and to write clear reports.

Responsibilities

Conduct field data collection and appraisal work; analyze market data and develop appraisal procedures/schedules.
Prepare and maintain computerized records and files; assist the public with real estate appraisal questions.
Research appeals, review records, contact owners, visit properties and update records.
Check assessments and sales and adjust values as needed; collect land valuation data and apply it to parcels.
Maintain network databases and software including VISION/CAMA and GIS; serve as Office Database Administrator.
