Job summary

EisnerAmper's Real Estate group is seeking a real estate accounting professional to service real estate clients and manage multi-entity portfolios of properties, including commercial and residential. Proficiency with Yardi, AppFolio and Intacct is preferred.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, monthly reviews, budgets and coordination with external auditors, while supporting lender reporting and construction draw packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 3+ years' experience in property accounting managing multiple properties and/or entities, 3+ years' of audit experience focusing on real estate clients, or combination of both.
• Experience with Yardi
• Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
• Experience working with task management and workpaper systems (Blackline, FloQast) (preferred).
• Experience working with Appfolio and/or Avid Exchange (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Make appropriate journal entries to record mortgage, payroll, utilities, management fees, property insurance and property taxes and other cash transactions
• Perform bank reconciliations (operating, security deposit, escrow accounts)
• Perform monthly financial review, accrual accounting and GL reclasses
• Perform reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts
• Perform in-depth review of the income statement
• Perform actual-to-budget variance analysis
• Perform, process, and calculate management fees and distributions
• Prepare monthly financial statement package for ownership to include balance sheet, profit & loss statement, statement of cash flows (if applicable), and bank reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly financial reporting to fulfill lender compliance requirements
• Act as liaison to external auditors by explaining journal entries and financial transactions, provide research data and information as requested, and answer questions necessary to complete the audit in a timely manner.
• Submit wires, ACHs, and internal bank transfers
• Development and uploading of budgets
• Maintain job costing schedules and prepare construction draw packages
• Maintain CAM and operation escalation schedules
