Job summary

Lydian Labs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Reactor Modeling Engineer in Boston to lead multi-physics modeling, CFD analysis, and data-driven problem solving for our low-emission reactor systems.

You will collaborate with experimentalists to validate models and drive design optimization across teams. The ideal candidate has strong fundamentals in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and chemical kinetics, with a track record of translating data into design improvements and actionable

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience with thermal-fluid, reactor, or catalytic analyses.
• Experience using CFD software to guide product design.
• Ability to analyze experimental data and present findings to teams.
• Strong engineering principles in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and transport phenomena.
• Experience modeling reactors and chemical kinetics.
• Independent, self-motivated project executor.

Responsibilities

• Develop thermofluid/reaction models for custom-designed reactors.
• Perform detailed analyses (hand calcs, FEA, CFD) to support design and optimization.
• Use models to interpret experimental systems and aid parameter selection.
• Collaborate to design, build, and run tests for data and model validation.
• Develop data analysis methods to support multiple teams.
• Collaborate with process engineers to implement parametrized models in plant simulations.
