Job summary

Parallel Wireless is seeking a hands-on wireless systems engineer to lead development of a multi-RAT digital twin for our Open RAN solution. You will evolve an LTE end-to-end simulator into a scalable platform for feature development, testing, and pre-validation.

The role covers MAC scheduling, neural channel estimation, and ML-based surrogates, working across C/C++, Python, MATLAB, and production systems. An engineering-driven culture awaits.

Qualifications

  • Experience building or validating link-level, system-level simulations.
  • Ability to explain model validity and limitations clearly.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, integrating production code with simulation tooling.
  • Experience in Linux development environments with Git, containers, and CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of communications, signal processing, or wireless systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical architecture and roadmap for a modular RAN digital twin (LTE, 5G NR).
  • Integrate MAC and scheduler software into deterministic simulations.
  • Model interactions among scheduler, PHY, channels, UE, traffic, and power control.
  • Extend LTE simulation and define abstractions for 5G NR and 2G stacks.
  • Design a fidelity ladder with high-fidelity PHY and faster surrogate models.
  • Develop AI/ML-based RAN capabilities and experiment pipelines.
  • Create reproducible A/B experiments with defined KPIs and configurations.
  • Establish simulation verification, calibration, and lab-repeatability practices.
  • Build automated unit, integration, and performance tests integrated into CI/CD.
