Parallel Wireless in the United States seeks a senior wireless systems engineer to lead development of a multi-RAT digital twin for our Open RAN solution. The role combines wireless systems, simulation, production software, and AI/ML to evolve an LTE end-to-end simulator into a scalable platform.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field with substantial experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in communication systems, system development, integration, or simulation.
• Experience with RAN, modem/PHY, or wireless systems is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Own the technical architecture and roadmap for a modular, multi-RAT RAN digital twin covering LTE, 5G NR.
• Integrate production MAC and scheduler software into deterministic, per-TTI/slot closed-loop simulations with stable interfaces.
• Model the interaction among scheduler decisions, PHY processing, channels, UE behavior, traffic, interference, mobility, HARQ, link adaptation, and power control.
• Extend the current LTE simulation capability to support additional 5G NR and 2G stacks without duplicating the platform.
• Design a fidelity ladder combining high-fidelity PHY with faster calibrated models or surrogate backends.
• Develop and evaluate AI/ML-based RAN capabilities, including neural channel estimation and learned link adaptation.
• Build datasets and experiment pipelines; establish baselines; measure accuracy, robustness, latency, and compute cost.
• Create reproducible A/B experiments across software builds and configurations; define KPIs like throughput and SINR.
• Establish simulation verification and validation practices with calibration rules and lab-repeatability baselines.
• Collaborate with RAN stack, PHY, system architecture, AI/ML, automation, and lab-validation teams to translate product questions into measurable campaigns.
