Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Rail & Transit Vehicles/Systems Project Manager to lead complex rolling stock projects and client engagements across rail and transit systems.

You will work with engineers, vendors, and clients, manage schedules and budgets, develop technical specifications, and ensure compliant, high-quality deliverables.

Hybrid work model with offices and remote work; requires extensive rail industry expertise and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Substantial professional years of relevant experience in rail/transit industries.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Experience with rail vehicle and systems engineering, maintenance, operation, and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Provide rail vehicle and systems engineering, project management and business support to rail/transit consulting assignments.
• Support both office and field activities for rail and vehicle systems, including specs, O&M requirements and overhauls.
• Perform technical reviews of proposed designs and upgrades for transit and rail fleets, and prepare review comments.
• Provide oversight and guidance to junior rail and transit systems engineers.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for various sub-systems.
• Identify and resolve design and system integration issues on transit projects.
• Support field implementation and assess performance of fleets from different suppliers for compatibility.
• Assess contract performance and compliance, and implement recommendations.
• Stay informed of rail/transit industry trends and best practices.
