Job summary

HDR is seeking a Construction Manager/Resident Engineer in the Northern CA Bay Area to lead subcontractor coordination and oversight of rail transit facilities. You will develop procedures with the project team, manage procurement, schedules, subcontracts, and progress presentations, and ensure budgetary and quality control for complex construction efforts.

Preferred candidates have 15+ years in construction planning/management, experience with rail projects, and PM/CCM certifications; PE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Ten years of experience in construction planning and management, including contracts, document/time/cost/quality management, scheduling, cost control and safety.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc.
• Strong people skills and ability to interact with Owner, Engineer, Contractor and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for subcontractor coordination, scheduling and quality control for substation facilities within rail transit.
• Develop procedures for executing activities and implement with the project team.
• Manage procurement, schedules, subcontracts, and progress presentations.
• Administer and manage construction activities; monitor design progress as related to construction requirements.
• Perform value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field.
• Assist in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages.
• Coordinate and review construction submittals; control budget and schedule.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
