Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Signal Engineer to design and engineer rail signal systems, including circuit design and vital logic programming. You will work with customer specifications, FRA regulations, and AREMA standards to deliver high-quality solutions and become proficient in both wayside and crossing design.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, 5+ years in railroad signaling with a degree (or 10+ years without), and proficiency in MS Office,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, computer or mechanical engineering; or computer science.
• 5+ years in railroad signaling with degree; or 10+ years without a degree.
• Thorough knowledge of signal systems incl. block, traffic control, cab signals, interlockings, crossings, FRA, AREMA and operating rules.
• Must become familiar with customer standards as part of the check process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Design Highway Crossing Warning systems as primary focus.
• Design wayside systems with VLC and WIU programming as needed.
• Review project scope with managers and leads to align with customer goals.
• Review and manage document control and versioning; ensure deliverables accuracy.
• Attend project reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
