Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist physicians across IR procedures in our Hybrid OR suites. You will capture high-quality radiographs, help maintain sterile technique, and support patient care throughout complex vascular and neuro interventions.

The role requires RCIS or equivalent, Washington RT licensure on hire, BLS, and ACLS certification, with on-call availability and proficiency in Hybrid OR environments.

Qualifications

  • Formal Radiologic Technologist program completion or RCIS with neuro/vascular/hybrid experience.
  • Washington Radiologic Technologist licensure upon hire and BLS certification.
  • National/registered technologist credentials (RT Radiography, Cardiac-Interventional, or Vascular-Interventional) upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Interventional Radiology team during procedures and imaging.
  • Obtain optimal radiographs and maintain aseptic technique.
  • Support Hybrid OR/IR rooms and on-call coverage as needed.

Description

Assists the Interventional Radiologists, Neuroradiologists, Neurosurgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Thoracic Surgeons and Cardiologists during a variety of technical procedures including but not limited to percutaneous interventions, diagnostic and therapeutic vascular procedures, invasive procedures, biopsies, drain placements, AAA, TAG, ECMO, and Intra OP Angio for Craniotomy in any of 4 IR suites and in all Hybrid OR/IR rooms, under the direct supervision of a physician. Participates in all daily duties necessary to perform high-quality patient care, imaging and support within the Interventional Radiology Department and Hybrid IR/OR rooms. Responsible for obtaining optimal radiographs and assisting the physician in an aseptic environment. Must be capable of patient monitoring and demonstrate knowledge of appropriate response to changes in patient condition. Must maintain in-depth knowledge of complex diagnostic and interventional supplies and equipment and be capable of assisting with their use in the hybrid IR/OR setting and in the Interventional radiology suite. Must be available for on-call shifts as necessary. Must keep proficient in CPT Coding.

Required qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technologist program. Or A two-year invasive cardiovascular program and successfully pass an approved national exam for Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of advanced training in Neuro, Vascular and Hybrid procedures including sign-off by IR preceptor and demonstrate competency in Hybrid ORs at all locations
  • Upon hire: Washington Radiologic Technologist
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Upon hire: National Registered Technologist - Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Upon hire:
  • National Registered Technologist - Cardiac-Interventional Radiography --or--
  • National Registered Technologist - Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography --or--
  • National Registered Technologist - Vascular-Interventional Radiography --or--
  • National Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • 6 months of tier 1 technologist, demonstrate competency by successful completion of advanced training in Neuro, Vascular and Hybrid procedures including sign-off by IR preceptor, and demonstrate competency in Hybrid ORs at all locations
Preferred qualifications:
  • Upon hire: Provider Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
  • 2 years of experience as an Interventional Technologist preferred, or as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
