Responsibilities
- Performs the more complex imaging examinations while providing a safe environment for patients.
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
- Identifies patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
- Explains the examination and is able to answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
- Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
- Practices High Reliability Training.
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Modality Manager, Chief Technologist or Assistant Chief Technologist, such as ordering supplies, QA/QC projects, lead inventory, etc.
- Helps with new departmental/hospital initiatives.
- Promotes positive morale, teamwork, and willingness to make a significant contribution.
- Trains fellows, residents, students, and staff in imaging procedures and techniques.
- Acts as a mentor to less experienced staff.
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complies with ETU.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.

- Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.
Minimum Requirements
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
- Registered in all modalities practiced.
- BLS certification.
- Associates Degree.
- 3 years of experience.
- Current MA Radiologic Technologist license is required for General Radiography, CT, and MRI.
