Job summary

Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to design external beam, brachytherapy, and adaptive treatment plans for radiation oncology. You will calculate dose distributions using 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT and SRS, supporting simulator and treatment units.

The role includes HDR brachytherapy planning, LDR eye plaque, Y-90 therapies, QA, data management, image registration, and training of students and residents.

Qualifications

• Masters of Medical Dosimetry from JCERT accredited program or MDCB certified with associates degree and on the job training.
• MDCB preferred or board-eligible.
• Licensure as required by state.
• CMD certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and calculate distribution of doses for radiation oncology treatments using 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT and SRS.
• Execute brachytherapy treatment planning (HDR GYN, HDR prostate implants) and LDR eye plaque plans.
• Conduct HDR daily QA and assist physicians during simulations; support clinical research as needed.
• Oversee LDR radioactive material workflow including ordering, deliveries and secure transfers.
• Bill dosimetry charges and document treatment records; prepare daily EMR and IGRT guidance.
• Import/export patient planning data with external facilities; ensure proper data handling.
• Identify and contour structures for treatment planning; verify plan quality through QA reviews.
• Assist in acquiring diagnostic images (CT, PET, MRI) for treatment planning; register images.
• Instruct and train students and residents in treatment planning; contribute to QA and process improvements.
