Qualifications

Job description

Overview

Senior Radiation Therapist – responsible for leading clinical and technical operations within assigned office(s), ensuring high‑quality patient care and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and delegate tasks to radiation therapists, nurses, and medical assistants.
• Oversee simulation, treatment delivery, and technical accuracy of setups, including IMRT, IGRT, stereotactic radiotherapy, radiosurgery, total body irradiation, and HDR programs.
• Provide clinical instruction and evaluation of students and staff.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and staff coverage to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Lead and attend departmental meetings, quality assurance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain equipment QA logs, monitor and resolve machine and equipment issues, and ensure proper notification of downtime.
• Manage supplies, ordering, inventory, and par level maintenance in collaboration with the Administrative Manager.
• Conduct staff evaluations, training, and continuing education monitoring.
• Prepare and analyze statistical reports, compliance documentation, and regulatory submissions.
• Act as the operational leader in the absence of other senior therapists or regional technical managers.
