Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Senior Radiation Physicist to ensure safe and accurate radiation therapy under physician orders. You will oversee technical aspects from imaging to treatment, calibrate equipment, and lead QA programs while developing policies and procedures and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will also train junior physicists and residents, supervise dosimetrists and therapists, and collaborate with clinicians to optimize patient care and safety in a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in therapeutic medical physics in a hospital/clinic-based environment.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee QA testing and calibration of radiation therapy equipment.
• Excellent communication with physicians, staff and patients to ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee machine QA testing and calibration for radiation therapy equipment.
• Lead implementation of new technologies and develop procedures for accreditation compliance.
• Train junior physicists and residents; supervise staff and provide guidance to dosimetrists and therapists.
• Develop policies, testing plans and documentation to ensure safe and effective patient care.
