You will translate physics into commercial products, guiding cross-functional teams from concept to deployment. The role requires a strong background in applied physics, detector physics, and signal processing, with direct experience in neutron and gamma detection and detector modeling.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in Physics, Applied Physics, Nuclear Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in sensor modeling and development, radiation detection.
• Strong understanding of: Radiation interactions with matter
• Detector physics
• Neutron and gamma detection
• Signal processing
• Statistical analysis
• Experience with experimental design, analyzing datasets and report writing.
• Strong technical communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop novel neutron and gamma radiation detectors for BWR, SMR and PWR nuclear reactors.
• Analyze and model detector response, gas gain behavior, pulse formation, and electronic signal characteristics.
• Optimize detector performance, sensitivity, gamma rejection, energy resolution, and count rate capabilities.
• Design and perform laboratory testing, calibration and qualification programs.
• Evaluate and advance the "state of the art" neutron detection technologies for business development applications.
• Convert customer requirements into system and product specifications.
• Lead multidisciplinary R&D efforts from concept through commercialization.
• Generate technical reports, patent disclosures, white papers, and peer-reviewed publications.
• Present technical results to customers, management, and industry conferences.
• Support proposal development and customer-funded research initiatives.
