Saab, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead design and integration of radar-based surveillance systems for commercial and government customers. The role is based in East Syracuse, NY and involves coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, developing specifications, pursuing new technologies, and supporting proposal activities. 7+ years in safety-critical industries and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience with requirements management, system design, and integration.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, typically <2 weeks/year.
• Desire for advanced degree and RF/embedded system experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigation and top-level design for new features and changes.
• Lead development of primary and secondary radar products for safety-critical surveillance.
• Develop and maintain specifications and technical documentation.
• Balance stakeholder interests across multiple groups.
• Coordinate with product management to meet objectives while managing risk.
• Develop and propose new technologies to enhance performance.
• Support technical and cost proposal preparation.
