Omnisight is a fast-growing technology company transforming how cities and agencies manage transportation. Our AI-driven fusion sensors combine radar, vision, and machine learning to deliver next-generation traffic detection and safety intelligence. We are building the future of smart mobility that is safer, smarter, and powered by AI.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Radar Software Engineer to take ownership of core radar signal processing and tracking software within our sensing platform. You will work hands-on across the full pipeline, from waveform design and detection through tracking and system integration, contributing directly to products deployed at scale. This is a highly applied role focused on robust, real-world performance rather than purely academic research.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and optimize radar signal processing algorithms, including detection, estimation, and tracking
- Develop and maintain the CFAR-based detection pipelines for mmWave radar systems
- Design and evaluate mmWave radar waveforms while managing tradeoffs between range, Doppler, angular resolution, latency, and compute constraints
- Implement and refine fundamental radar signal-processing algorithms, including pulse compression, Doppler processing, and angle estimation
- Develop and tune multi-target tracking systems, including solutions for Kalman filtering, association and gating algorithms, and clustering techniques
- Collaborate with firmware, computer vision, and systems engineers on sensor fusion and system-level performance
- Deploy, test, and debug radar software on Linux-based embedded systems
- Support field testing and performance analysis using real-world data
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in EE, CE, CS, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in radar systems and signal processing
- Strong knowledge of radar systems, including CFAR detection, mmWave waveform design, radar signal processing fundamentals, and radar antennas
- Experience with target tracking systems, including Kalman filtering, association algorithms, clustering, and gating
- Experience working in Linux environments, including basic system administration
- Proficiency in statically typed programming languages, preferably C++ and/or C#
- Ability to work independently, reason through ambiguous problems, and deliver production-quality code
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field is a plus
- Experience with real-time or embedded radar systems
- Experience deploying algorithms on edge or resource-constrained hardware
- Familiarity with sensor fusion using radar and vision
- Background in transportation, ITS, or outdoor sensing systems
- Experience supporting deployed systems and field data analysis
Location
Open to candidates anywhere in the continental U.S. This role is in-office/hybrid for candidates based in the Charleston, SC area and fully remote for candidates in all other locations.
