The Opportunity

The Radar Operations Center (ROC) is responsible for maintaining radar availability, verifying the generation and integrity of sensor data and monitoring for potential physical and cyber, security threats. The long-term objective of the ROC, is to aid in the growth of our LeoLabs Network of Radars and lead the company towards large-scale operations, including our mobile radar product. The Senior Radar Operations Engineer will have experience in an operations environment similar to a network operations center, mission control or equivalent operations space. This individual will have the ability to actively monitor the radar network, diagnose and resolve system issues and perform root cause analysis and trending. This role will help shape and develop the future of the Radar Operations Center, including creating process and procedure, defining critical monitoring points, and helping identify growth opportunities. As a senior level position this candidate should have an understanding of query generation, coding skills, and experience with command line interface. This candidate will be required to build an understanding of the backend data systems and LeoLabs product generation.

Qualifications

· B.S., M.S in a STEM field or equivalent experience is acceptable

· Experience working in a network operations center, mission control or similar operations environment

· A background in incident management with experience in anomaly response and escalation

· Experience with documenting and logging daily and off nominal activities

· Metric analysis and data correlation to past or present system performance

· Experience creating and maintaining operations process and procedure

· A background in python, and sql querying, with the ability to read and extract data from logs

· General understanding of RF principles and modulation

· Ability to work in a flexible and variable work environment, including on-call responsibilities

Preferred qualifications

· Background in cybersecurity, servers and networking

· An understanding of software development

· Experience and general understanding of AWS and cloud computing

· Experience using Grafana and Datadog monitoring tools

· Knowledge of ansible

Within 1 month, you’ll:

· Complete our onboarding program designed to get you up to speed on our business, vision and team

· Gain an understanding about how your role fits into LeoLabs broader organization

· Understand the fundamentals of operating the Leolabs Network of Radars

Within 3 months, you’ll:

· Actively contributing to the Radar Operations Center and collaborating with counterparts in international locations

· Have the ability to monitor the network and report any anomalies activity to a ROC Team Member

Within 6 months, you’ll:

· Ability to monitor LeoLabs Network of Radars independently

· Report radar issues through the proper channels

Within 9 months, you’ll:

· Contribute to the software development and automation of radars

Within 12 months, you’ll:

· Create process and procedure for the ROC Team

· Lead projects in developing and implementing tools to more effectively monitor, respond to, and report on anomalous radar behavior.

12 months and beyond, you’ll:

· Help mentor new ROC employees and assist in training and developing the ROC
