The role leads radar or lidar sensing system development from concept through production, guiding benchmarks, supplier engagement, and cross-functional decisions with hardware, software, and validation teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7+ years of experience (or advanced degree with 2+ years).
8+ years in automotive sensing with hands-on radar or lidar experience and leadership.
Strong first-principles understanding of radar or lidar sensing modalities.
Proficient Python for parsing logs and evaluating sensor performance.
Experience with CAN tools, ROS/rosbag, and automotive data interfaces.

Responsibilities

Lead development of radar or lidar sensing systems from concept to production launch.
Define sensor targets, evaluation criteria, and validation plans.
Drive benchmarking and supplier technical engagements.
Lead architecture tradeoffs for sensing performance, packaging, and cost.
Collaborate across systems, perception, firmware, validation, and manufacturing.
Review test data, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
