Kapta Space in Redmond, WA, is hiring a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of radar sensor firmware, from design to testing and support in mission-critical environments.

You will collaborate with radar, hardware, FPGA, and software teams to architect and implement robust firmware for spaceborne applications, optimize performance, and ensure reliable operation across embedded processors and ground-based systems.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 8+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Knowledge of board support packages, OS, bootloaders, and satellite-grade MCUs.
• Experience with C/C++ and version control practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement embedded firmware for the Radar Sensor.
• Lead complete lifecycle development including testing and support.
• Collaborate with radar, hardware, FPGA, and mechanical engineers.
• Generate test plans and methods to verify firmware on hardware.
