Job summary

Fortem Technologies Inc. in Lindon, Utah is seeking an experienced Senior Algorithms Engineer focused on radar signal processing and target detection/tracking.

The role involves designing, maintaining, and improving a variety of radar algorithms, with on-site work only. You will implement these algorithms on embedded hardware using C++, validate them with real-world data, and collaborate with the DroneHunter and SkyDome teams to ensure requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Experimental Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Strong experience with radar algorithms (e.g. MTI, beamforming, CFAR, detection) and MTI experience is a plus.
• Experience with embedded hardware and C++ development.
• Rapid numerical prototyping in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate radar signal processing algorithms for improved target detection and tracking.
• Implement algorithms on embedded hardware with timing and resource constraints using C++.
• Develop test cases using real-world data to validate algorithm efficacy and iterate the design.
• Collaborate with DroneHunter and SkyDome teams to ensure radar output meets requirements.
• Derive and develop metrics to evaluate performance.
• Engage in signal processing, machine learning, and estimation tasks as needed.
• Support Fortem Technologies in ongoing engineering efforts.
