Job summary

Dahl Consulting is seeking a Senior R&D Engineering Project Manager in Anoka, MN (Hybrid) to lead high‑impact NPI initiatives within the Systems Protection unit. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 7+ years in engineering with 3+ years in PM, strong communication, and travel ~10% domestically.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 7+ years in engineering experience, including 3+ years in project management and/or leading teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to provide work direction to teams to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams through the NPI process (Discover, Develop, Deploy, Launch) to deliver products on schedule.
• Drive, coordinate, and maintain project schedules while partnering with engineers and designers.
• Direct external activities such as regulatory compliance and third-party testing.
• Serve as central coordination point across Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply, ISC, Quality, and Compliance for both branded platform products and customer-specific engineered solutions.
• Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring they remain on track and escalating roadblocks as needed.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks early through structured risk planning strategies.
• Track Project Portfolio KPIs and drive continuous improvement to reduce product development cycle time.
• Foster a collaborative team environment with open communication, problem identification, and effective resolution.
• Promote knowledge sharing to strengthen technical depth, enable process improvements, and support adaptable operational support.

Senior R&D Engineering Project Manager

Location: Anoka, MN (Hybrid) | Job Type: Permanent | Compensation: $100,000 - $135,000 per year | Industry: Electrical Manufacturing

Overview

We are partnering with a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions to lead impactful New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives within the Systems Protection Business Unit. The role focuses on overseeing large‑scale NPI projects primarily in the Cooling Department with additional support to the Enclosures Department. The Senior R&D Engineering Project Manager will guide cross‑functional teams through a structured stage‑gate process to ensure timely and successful product launches.

• Demonstrated ability to provide work direction to teams to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration.
• Strong communication skills focused on problem‑solving and resolution.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% domestically and potential international travel.

Preferred:

• Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) for backlog management, progress tracking, and reporting.
• Prior experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI) projects within a stage‑gate framework.
• Background in the electrical, enclosures, cooling, or systems protection industries.
