Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Financial Operations Specialist in San Antonio, TX, to independently review borrower and loan-level information for balance statements and payoff requests. You will prepare statements, validate calculations, and resolve discrepancies across complex scenarios.

You will manage multiple queues, escalate unresolved questions, and share procedural knowledge with teammates while protecting confidential borrower information.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in financial operations, loan servicing, or related analytical work.
• Ability to perform and validate detailed financial calculations.
• Experience reviewing complex accounts and exception-based work.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication for escalation.

Responsibilities

• Independently review borrower and loan-level information for balance and payoff requests.
• Prepare and validate Statements of Loan Balances and payoff quotes across standard, advanced, and exception-based requests.
• Research unusual account conditions, missing information, conflicting documentation, and calculation discrepancies.
• Process complex grant, principal and interest, receivable, recapture, appraisal-related, multi-loan and other authorized quoting requests.
• Evaluate loans within multi-loan borrower accounts and prepare consolidated summaries when required.
• Determine procedural path and resolve issues within established authority.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple work queues with limited direction.
• Validate inputs/outputs and attachments before submission; escalate when needed.
• Share knowledge and provide procedural clarification to teammates.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to procedures and workflows.

What You Will Do:

• Independently review borrower and loan-level information for complex balance statement and payoff requests.
• Prepare and validate Statements of Loan Balances and payoff quotes across standard, advanced, and exception-based request types.
• Research unusual account conditions, missing information, conflicting documentation, and calculation discrepancies.

• Evaluate individual loans within multi-loan borrower accounts and prepare accurate consolidated summaries when required.
• Determine the appropriate procedural path and resolve issues within established authority.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple work queues with limited day-to-day direction.
• Validate calculation inputs, outputs, supporting documentation, attachments, and routing before submission.
• Escalate unresolved policy questions, material exceptions, and matters outside assigned authority with clear supporting documentation.
• Share technical knowledge and provide procedural clarification to team members when needed.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to procedures, templates, workflows, and controls.
• Protect confidential borrower, financial, and account information.

What You Will Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in financial operations, loan servicing, mortgage operations, account servicing, payment processing, or comparable analytical work.
• Demonstrated experience independently handling complex account scenarios and exception-based work.
• Advanced numerical accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform and validate detailed financial calculations.
• Ability to research discrepancies, reconcile inconsistent information, and document conclusions.
• Ability to interpret and apply written procedures, templates, controls, and workflow requirements.
• Ability to independently prioritize assignments across multiple queues and competing deadlines.
• Sound judgment and the ability to determine when an issue must be escalated.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including concise escalation documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with limited day-to-day direction.
• Ability to protect confidential borrower, financial, and account information.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Associate degree or higher in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience preparing payoff quotes, Statements of Loan Balances, or comparable financial documentation.
• Experience with complex payoff, foreclosure, refinance, property-sale, borrower payoff, or special-exception requests.
• Experience reviewing accounts containing multiple related loans.
• Experience with corrective workflows, document routing, quality-control practices, or advanced account research.
• Experience identifying recurring issues and recommending process improvements.
• Experience providing technical knowledge sharing or procedural guidance to peers.
• Experience in a regulated, procedure-driven, or high-volume financial operations environment.
