Job summary
Lockheed Martin Ignite/ACES seeks a Research Oriented Electro-Optical Engineer to lead the development of linear and nonlinear optical systems and devices. You will model, test, and optimize lasers, amplifiers, and frequency converters, while packaging photonics components for experimental payloads.
A strong background in photonics and remote sensing technologies is essential. You will perform design, analysis, and lab demonstrations, contribute to technical proposals, and collaborate on system
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, or related fields.
- Expertise in design, modeling and analysis of lasers and linear/nonlinear optical systems.
- Experience with laser resonators, amplifiers, optical links and frequency converters.
- Experience constructing lab and field tests for optical systems.
- Ability to obtain US government security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Specify and select linear/nonlinear optical components and technologies.
- Design and build lasers and optical systems (imaging and non-imaging).
- Evaluate system performance via modeling, data acquisition and analysis.
- Perform laboratory testing and experimental demonstrations.
- Develop prototypes for experimental space payloads.
- Analyze and integrate system components; enable field demonstrations.
- Prepare summaries, presentations, and proposals.
