Job summary

Qunett in Boston is hiring a Senior Quantum Control Physicist to design, build, and operate the coherent control stack for our diamond quantum memory. You will engineer microwave and optical delivery paths, integrate with cryogenic platforms, and develop pulse sequences and automation for repeatable experiments.

Day-to-day duties include running pulsed control experiments, diagnosing noise, and iterating hardware to push fidelity, speed, and robustness beyond the lab.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Hands-on coherent control of a qubit system (spins, superconducting qubits, or similar).
• Experience designing hardware for microwave or optical coherent control (RF/microwave delivery, photonic control).
• Lab experience with RF/microwave instrumentation and instrument control using Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the coherent control stack for diamond memory.
• Run pulsed control experiments (Rabi, Ramsey, dynamical decoupling, multi-qubit gates).
• Diagnose noise sources, iterate hardware to improve fidelity and speed.
• Develop control sequences, calibration routines, and automation for a repeatable system.
