Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency seeks an Operations Research Analyst to design and apply mathematical and statistical methods for complex management problems. Position may be filled in Whitehall, OH or Richmond, VA, with salary ranges shown for both locations.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Operations Research or equivalent coursework, plus one year of specialized experience in mathematical modeling, statistics, and simulation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research OR 24 semester hours in Quantitative subjects with calculus requirements.
• Specialized experience including designing and applying mathematical/statistical methods to significant problems; leading study groups and using simulations to support decision making.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and adapt mathematical/statistical methods to analyze problems of significant importance.
• Apply scientific techniques focusing on mathematical disciplines; use simulations to identify scenarios and study plans with milestones and expected improvements.
• Lead study groups in applying mathematical modeling, statistics, optimization, and probability to business problems.
